To Weigh or Not to Weigh?

Hey readers!  Sorry for not posting last week.  Nothing was wrong.  I just didn't have anything profound to share, and I'm thinking that's not a bad thing.  I feel like my new lifestyle is taking hold and cementing into place, and sometimes I don't have much to report.  Or it could have been because I did my longest, long run as part of my 14 week training program for the Cleveland Half Marathon (TWO WEEKS FROM TODAY! YIKES!), and it completely tired me out.  10 miles.  I think it went well.  I felt like it would have been better if I had water available to drink though out.  I was quite dehydrated after finishing so I talked up on water to rehydrate. The half marathon has many water breaks so I feel I'll be okay.  Plus, when I finished I felt like I could still continue, and at that distance, I would only have 3 more miles left. I definitely feeling better about the Half. This past Saturday, I ran my first 5K and I finished in ...

So Now What?

Hey everyone!  I hope you all had a happy safe New Year.  I had a great time enjoying some great food.  I didn't feel guilty either.  I realize that I've come a long way from almost a year ago where I was sometimes afraid to eat anything that may have a larger calorie content.  I was concerned that anything that feel in that category would send me spiraling back to gaining weight, being unhealthy, and living a miserable life.  Now, I fully understand that food can be enjoyable, but when it's all said and done, food is fuel.  And that fuel must be used.  Check out my dress!   It was pretty cool dressing up and going out.  I hope I have more opportunities for dressing up in the future. Now that 2013 is here, I've been quite pensive.  I have lots on my mind.  I also know that my official one year anniversary is only two weeks away, and that is weighting on me too - but not in a negative way.  Just being thoug...

Light Bulb!

Today I thought about epiphanies.  You know, those fantastic "light bulb" moments of absolute brilliance that come along a few times in your lifetime...or at least in my lifetime.  Why all of a sudden am I ready to lose weight, and why did it take so long to make that decision?  To be honest, I don't think I can really answer that question. It came to me when I really wasn't thinking about it.  It was this past Friday after I finished working.  It was like a flash.  I suddenly got all of these ideas as to what I can do lose this weight...permanently.  And, all those ideas revolved around honesty.  I was honest with myself about why I was obese.  Why I wasn't exercising.  Why I wasn't really living up to my full potential.  Then, I guess I said to myself I'm going to do it, and do it right now.  So, I exercised on Saturday and Sunday with surprising endurance.  I walked today with no problems.  Now, I'm thinki...
